Hiya! Welcome to We Want Guac, a finance-focused blog for college students and young professionals. The whole shebang is run by me, Darcy, who hit a $100,000 net worth at 25 years old and tripled my post-college income. Now I’m sharing the wealth of knowledge I learned to do both things so everyone else has a resource for accomplishing the same.

Here’s a quick drop-down list for what YOU, specifically, are looking for help with:

Investing

It’s a MASSIVE leg up when you start in your 20s, especially when you understand how it all actually works. Need to understand what accounts you can open? What you should probably start investing in? How investing right now can set you up for life?? I got you. No gimmicks. No bamboozles. Just straight help to put you in the best position possible.

Budgeting

Or: learning how to lower your expenses. This is the first step towards financial success, which is even more important than investing or getting a higher income. If you’re still paycheck-to-paycheck with a big salary, after all, you’re still not building wealth.

Getting a high-paying job.

That link is to Part 1 of the 4-part series, which also includes how to optimize your LinkedIn profile so job recruiters will fall in love with you. If you’re interested in other ways to increase your income, the Higher Income category is your next stop. It holds everything from negotiating your salary (here) to starting a second job or side hustle (here).

EVERYTHING.

Or you can hit up my archives page to show every single post I’ve ever written (over 150!) in chronological order.

And if you want to know more about the lady behind the green curtain?

Got you on that too. I’m no wizard of Oz.

In fact, I’ve done an interview or two that landed on big sites, including MarketWatch and the ChooseFI podcast (if you want to hear my actual, real-life voice). Otherwise, I get real if you peruse The Life of Darcy category.

Again, I’m not trying to sell you anything by sharing this information. Any income I might get (which is $0 one year in) will never come from lying to you or from #fakenews. I’ve made a disclosures page going in more detail which you can find here.

And that’s that! If you can’t find the answers you’re looking for feel free to contact me and I’ll respond ASAP. I’d especially love to hear about your own climb to wealth and how you’re managing along the way; it’s a hard road if you’ve never gotten a financial education, and the more people that are financially literate the better off we’ll be.
